Reigns... but with an insanity mechanic?


Hello everyone, today I wrapped up development on my entry for the Kenney Jam 2025, 


It is a kingdom management roguelike with an insanity mechanic, inspired by games like Reigns.

I was inspired visually by Deltarune (lots of black space). Though I was limited to only Kenney and KayKit visual assets for the competition, these weren't limiting factors and actually led to a more cohesive style immediately. 




In the game, you are a ruler trying to hold a kingdom together by managing its political power, economy, public support, and military prowess. Each of these factions cannot fall out of balance or else you will face an unfortunate end. However, your sanity may suffer at the expense of your decisions... as seen here:



However, as one king reaches an end, another will rise up. You may view the history of the kingdom via the Timeline on the main menu. It details the fate of previous kings.

Your goal is to remain on the throne for as long as possible and fight off (or embrace) insanity. Do you have what it takes to be a TYRANT?
